Forest Management

Do you want to learn what sorts of trees, plants, animals, and landscape features exist in your forest? Are you interested in learning how to improve forest diversity and resiliency? Maybe you just want to build a walking trail or harvest a few trees for firewood.

With a bachelor’s degree in Forest Management from the University of Minnesota and over 12 years of professional experience in field forestry and timber sale planning, Casey is ready to guide you in identifying your own forest management goals. Over two decades of experience with human scale woodcutting for forest health and firewood collection can help you implement them!

Woods Walk

Woods Walks were designed for curious landowners to learn more about the land they steward. Casey will walk through your forest with you to identify tree species, forest characteristics, landscape features, wildlife habitats and more, so you can discuss which management activities will help you meet your goals.

After the walk, Casey will compile a 1-2 page Basic Management Plan with recommendations to help guide your future land management activities. Depending on your goals, he can also do on-the-ground management such as marking specific trees for harvest, marking trails for clearing, or anything listed on the Custom Woodcutting page. Insurance certificate can be provided upon request.
